We believe that civil engineering plays a vital role in the progress and development of a modern society. Civil engineers design and supervise the construction of roads, buildings, airports, harbours, tunnels, dams, bridges, water supply systems and environmental engineering facilities.

The Department of Civil Engineering at Holy Kings College of Engineering and Technology is a vibrant department offering the Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering. The Civil Engineering Branch commenced in 2011 with a strength of 38 students. The batch strength has been increased to 120 from the academic year 2014-2015. Prof. A. I. Kuriakose is the Head of the Department. The departmental activities embrace Planning, Design, Construction and Management. Many of the faculty members have received advanced degrees and/or training from reputed institutions in India. HKCET strives to prepare students to deal with major engineering challenges of the future in a sustainable manner by providing quality, innovative educational programmes and offering multidisciplinary research opportunities.

       To offer a promising learning experience consistent with the demands of industry to generate professionals of global values in Civil Engineering with experiences in accepting new challenges in pace with rapidly moving technologies.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  • ·          To produce graduates who have the ability to demonstrate technical competences and complexities in the field of Civil Engineering and develop solutions for the same

  • To produce graduates who would attain professional competence through life -long learning such as advance degrees, professional registrations and other professional activities.

  • To produce graduates who function effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment and individually, within a global, societal, and environment contexts

  • To produce graduates who would be able to analyze data and technical concepts pertaining to the development of infrastructure, design, sustainability, construction management and any other related field of civil engineering
